Moisturise & Protect
Your skin needs extra nourishment and protection at this time of year. Look at the ingredients in your products to ensure they will nourish and benefit your skin, rather than containing harmful chemicals which could irritate or damage. Natural Vegan products are always a safer and healthier option for your skin.
It’s time to reach for products with more intense moisturising qualities. Heavier creams like body butter will create a barrier between the elements and your skin, locking in the moisture.
They provide intense moisture whilst also forming a protective barrier on the skin, so they are especially helpful during dry or cold weather. To enliven dry skin try our Lilly Pilly body butter. The addition of pure lemon myrtle leaf oil refreshes your senses whilst also having antibacterial benefits which assist in tightening pores and bringing relief to irritated and sensitive skin.
It’s best to apply moisturiser straight after you shower, when the skin is still damp as this will allow it to penetrate a lot quicker and better.
Also, it’s not time to pack away the sunscreen just yet!. It’s important to keep using sunscreen all year round to protect your skin from sun damage, wrinkles and age spots.
Hydration is key
Dehydration can often show in our complexion – puffy eyes and fine lines can the result of this. As the change in weather is taking moisture from your skin, ensure you are drinking enough water to keep it healthy from the inside out.
Pack your diet full of moisture-rich foods including leafy greens, water-rich fruits, and healthy fats. Avoid foods and drinks that dehydrate you – coffee, alcohol, dry meats, and salty foods.
You could consider getting a humidifier to add some moisture back into the air at home or placing bowls of water by heaters instead.
To keep your skin hydrated, get into a routine of moisturising your skin twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. If you prefer a lotion to a butter, why not treat your skin to a new Body Lotion to keep dryness and sensitivity at bay.
